Wimbledon is one of the four 'Grand Slams', i.e. the biggest and most prestigious tournaments in the professional tennis calendar, and is widely considered the most famous and prestigious tennis tournament of all, and one of the biggest in all of sports. In terms of record holders, Swiss great Roger Federer holds the men's record of 8 titles at the event, while on the women's side US-Czech player Martina Navratilova won a total of 9 trophies.
